Review: Lysol Disinfectant Spray Crisp Linen Scent to Brighten Your Day

Lysol has long been one of those products that you can really depend on when it comes to disinfecting areas of the house.

It doesn't have to just be in the home where you put it to use either, as I have demonstrated with the Lysol Crisp Linen Scent at work. The main selling point to most of the Lysol Brand products is that they serve as a great disinfectant for just about anything. This particular version comes in a 19 ounce spray can, with an easy to control nozzle and tilted head that allows for easy application.

The Lysol also advertises that it kills viruses, germs, mold, &mildew. It does this to the tune of killing 99.9% of germs within the first 30 seconds of application. That right there is a pretty good selling point right there, and a prototypical reason to go with Lysol when you want to clean up areas that could be covered in germs.

This particular Lysol Disinfectant is one of their newer fragrances, which is their crisp linen scent, presented through a nice clean and fresh smelling fragrance. Rather than having that typical strong "cleaner" smell when you spray it on a surface, you are instead presented with a nice smell, almost resembling something that would come out of the laundry room.

It's still slightly strong to the nostrils, but it is not so strong as to be uncomfortable to anyone within smelling distance of the application. That pleasant smell really does give an added benefit to an already stellar product, but I wouldn't go as far as saying the normal Lysol smells terrible in the fist place. This one is just more of a wafting aroma that helps you know it is taking action against those germs.

To use the spray, you simply point the head of the can towards the vicinity of what you want to disinfect, and give that area a nice misting. If you are using it for the dual purpose of freshening the air in an area just give it a quick tap and fan the air a little bit. One thing to be careful of is to not spray it into your eyes, or get it on your skin in large doses.

This could turn the Lysol into an annoying irritant. Using it for its main use (a disinfectant spray) you can look around the house and find any hard non-porous surface that you use on a daily basis and begin spraying the Lysol on to it. The can itself notes various surfaces that it will work best on, which includes: garbage cans, non-wood highchairs and counters, sinks, bathroom surfaces, shower curtains, toilet seats, doorknobs, shower stalls, telephones, and plastic toys just to name a few. For best results they recommend that you spray it on an area and let sit for 10 minutes to let the disinfectant go after the germs. If this is an area where you will place food, use the Lysol, and when you are done, wipe down the counter again with clean water.

Using this spray at work, the two most common places where I spray the Lysol are on the front desk area, and the conference phone that I have at my desk. This along with my keyboard, as the places where germs probably resonate the most often, and if I want to give myself some added insurance against getting sick, this Lysol is a really great choice of products.

The Lysol is easy for me to store (kept out of direct sunlight or heat) and it takes only a few seconds to pull the can off the shelf and put it to use. One other thing I should point out is that this Lysol is a disinfectant, and not a cleaner as some might assume. If you make a mess clean it up first, and then use the Lysol to finish off the job.

That way you have a clean area that has also been disinfected to create a germ-free work-space. The Lysol Crisp Linen Scent is a bonus in regards to being able to use the Lysol in a public area, and that couple with the affordable price makes it a product that I will keep coming back to.
