I love fried chicken and I do not always have the time to make this tasty dish.
When I spotted Hungry Man Classic Fried Chicken Meal in the frozen food section of my local grocery store, two things caught my attention! One was the tasty looking picture of this meal on the front of the box. The other thing was the words "one pound" written across this product. That is a lot of food. I decided to purchase this frozen meal and try it out.
Here is what I discovered!
Hungry Man Classic Fried Chicken Meal costs around three to four dollars depending on where you buy this meal at. It is a bit pricey compared to other frozen dinners but, this dinner has a lot of food. There are not many choices available in the frozen food section, when it comes to fried chicken.
Most dinners only offer one small piece of fried chicken and that is not enough if you are really craving fried chicken. What attracted me to Hungry Man Classic Fried Chicken Meal was the large amount of food offered. This dinner has two pieces of chicken, white and dark, along with corn, mashed potatoes and a brownie for dessert. The chocolate brownie did tempt me, I admit.
You must follow the cooking directions very carefully, when preparing this dinner! You can prepare it in an conventional oven or in a microwave. In the oven, it takes about thirty-five to forty minutes to cook at 350 degrees and you have to stir the potatoes once during cooking.
You also need to let this dinner stand for one or two minutes before serving. It needs to be cooked on a baking sheet, if you use the conventional oven method. I chose to prepare this fried chicken meal in the microwave. You must follow the cooking directions exactly for all foods in this dinner to cook properly. You have to remove the brownie during cooking. It only took about six and one half minutes to prepare this dinner in my microwave. This meal needs to stand in the microwave one minute before removing it.
One important fact to remember about this meal is that is should always be cooked thoroughly before eating. You never want to eat a frozen meal that is not cooked well! For the crispiest chicken, it is recommended that you use the conventional oven method of cooking.

The chicken was pretty tasty and that was what I was craving, when I purchased this meal.
Hungry Man Classic Fried Chicken Meal has one thousand and twenty calories. Five hundred and ten of these calories are from fat. This is not the dinner you want to eat if you are dieting!
This product has fifty-seven grams of total fat, twelve grams of saturated fat, one hundred and seventy mgs of cholesterol, fifteen hundred and seventy mgs of sodium, sixty-seven grams of total carbs, four grams of dietary fiber, seventeen grams of sugars and fifty-seven grams of protein. Whew. Yes, this dinner tastes good and now you know why.
This meal provided me with ten percent of my daily required vitamin A and calcium requirement. It gave me thirty percent of my daily iron needed and twenty-five percent of my daily required vitamin C need. This meal does contain soy, wheat, milk and eggs.
