Review: Esee Izula Fixed Blade Neck Knife

Lifetime warranty. If everything came with one we would be a happier people. Of course that isn't possible and a no condition guarantee is unbelievable in the case of a knife. In this case, believe it.

The Esee Izula is an ideal little knife. Useful beyond imagination, tough, easily deployed and with a full warranty. It is aptly named after the Bullet Ant which Peruvian natives call "Isula." It is small lightweight easily carried and easily deployed.

The knife is a one piece carbon steel construction with a carbon steel blade. It's edge is as sharp as a razor and can whittle sticks and cut boxes to ribbons as well as carve up your next meal. It has a skeleton handle with a finger hole on the end.

The sheath is a brilliant plastic design. The knife slips in and out with ease and feels very secure. I've taken mine on several trips through the woods and have not had a single problem with it. I did enjoy using the knife though and the general feeling of security a survival knife brings in the woods.

For those like me who like a package deal it can be obtained with a mini survival kit. The kit includes a whistle, paracord for wrapping the handle, split ring, instruction sheet, molle lock, and Fire flint. It really is a superb little kit. I used the paracord to hang the sheath from my neck instead of wrapping the handle but I had other paracord and wrapped the handle with it. I should mention that wrapping the handle does help as the knife handle is a bit thin without it. One can also obtain handle scales but I find the paracord wrapping to be perfect.

It is available in four colors: black, olive drab, desert tan, and pink. I opted for black as I prefer standard colors and it was also the cheapest. Price is an object to me and I like Henry Ford I prefer black.

However for this particular knife I feel that is a deal. I have few fixed blade knives and this one is by far my favorite despite its relatively small size. It is only 6.25 inches long and weighs in at 2 ounces. This makes it ideal to carry as it does not get in the way and even though small it can do almost any job required of a good knife.

I have to give this one a 5 out of 5 without a hitch. It is a small beautiful little survival knife. Get one for yourself and anyone in your life who would like a good knife.
