Entenmann's has been making and delivering breads and baked goods since 1898. Today, Entenmann's continues to offer a wide assortment of donuts, cakes, breads, cereal bars, and other baked goods.

Entenmann's also offers a wide assortment of cookies, including coconut macaroons, gingerbread, holiday butter cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, and different kinds of chocolate chip cookies. I purchased a box of Entenmann's Original Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I was pleasantly surprised!

Entenmann's Original Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookies: Considering the generous portions that came in the box, the price was quite reasonable. I've paid that much for one baked good at Starbucks.

The ingredients are not terribly wholesome. Entenmann's Original Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookies contain sugar (as the first ingredient!), chocolate chips, soy lecithin, vanillin, wheat flour, palm oil, bleached wheat flour, high fructose corn syrup, wheat starch, water, eggs, soybean oil, molasses, modified cornstarch, salt, whey (milk), baking soda, artificial flavor, guar gum, carob bean gum, caramel color, and soy protein.

There may also be traces of almonds, cashews, and coconuts.

Each serving contains three small cookies. One serving contains 140 calories, 7 grams of fat (3 grams of saturated fat), 20 grams of carbohydrates (11 grams of sugar), and not much else. I don't expect packaged store-bought cookies to be terribly nutritious. While you're not getting a lot of nutrition, at least this snack is not too high in calories.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of Entenmann's Original Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookies! They are a bit crispy around the edges, but very soft in the middle.The dough was soft and chewy, though a little sugary. The chocolate chips were small but plentifully distributed among the cookies. The dough and the chocolate chips melt in your mouth.

One problem I had with Entenmann's Original Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookies was the packaging. It makes it very difficult to watch your portions! Other cookies such as Chips Ahoy come in packages where each cookie is placed in its own groove.

Entenmann's, however, places all its cookies in one big box. Because they are so small, it's easy to think that one more can't hurt. And because the portions are not divided in the box, it's very difficult to keep track of how many you've eaten! When I buy these snacks, I make a point to limit myself to three at a time.

Entenmann's Original Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookies are a tasty, chewy, reasonably-priced snack, provided you know how to watch your portions.

It's hard to eat just one!
