Ever had irritating scratches or bumps on your skin that wouldn't stop itching? I've had those when I tried on clothes in a store that someone else had tried on before me. The more you scratch, the redder it gets.
Right before vacation one year, I was stung by a bee. Ouch! I hadn't been stung in years and it really hurt. I rubbed salt on my arm to get the stinger out. That's my grandmother's remedy. I put a cool cloth over the site and my arm felt better. I thought I was okay. Instead my entire arm became red, swollen, and hot to the touch a few hours later.
I knew that Benadryl was used for allergic reactions. Taking Benadryl tablets had made me drowsy in the past and I had to go to work that night before my vacation started. Tablets were out of the question, but my arm was getting worse. Then I noticed Benadryl Itch Stopping Gel on the shelf. My itching was mild and not a major problem so I figured it might not work for me. I turned the bottle over and read the back. Benadryl Itch Stopping Gel worked on skin irritations, burns, and scratches as well as relieving itches.

It was worth a shot, so I bought it. The first thing I noticed was that Benadryl Itch Stopping Gel is clear. There'd be no white flaky residue left on my skin for people to see. The gel spread evenly without feeling sticky. There was a strong smell of camphor, but it disappeared once the gel completely absorbed into my skin.
Benadryl Itch Stopping Gel can be applied three to four times a day. I applied the gel as much as I could the first couple of days. The bottle was small enough to carry along in my purse to the amusement parks. The fading smell meant that no one would know I had it on. The swelling and the warmth started to go away about Day 3. The redness persisted a little longer, but the gel caused it to fade.
And, the gel is safe for kids, too. If Benadryl tablets keep them bouncing off the walls, this gel is the answer. Just remember, if you are already using an oral Benadryl medication, the tablets need to be discontinued before using the topical gel.
